The SYEP Coordinator for the Young Women’s Leadership School in Staten Island

The SYEP Coordinator is responsible for managing the caseload of participants and worksites. They conduct pre-assessment to ensure worksite compliance, assist with orientations and Career Fair events, conduct weekly worksite visits, report violations to SYEP leadership, and develop positive working relationships with worksite supervisors. They also assist with closing out packages and collections of missing documents.

Since its founding in East Harlem in 1996, the Young Women Leadership School has become an all-girls college prep school focused on leadership, health, and STEAM. Until recently, Staten Island had no such school. That was until former Borough President James Oddo and DOE Chancellor Carmen Farina discussed starting one on Staten Island.
